Craymen and the Black Fleet

While Craymen was still loyal to the Empire it appears that he rose through the ranks in the imperial navy until an entire airship fleet was put under his command. Craymen was obvisouly a very capable commander and most likely rarely suffered defeat at the hands of the enemy. Craymen's Black Fleet seems to have primarily suited for air-to-air combat. Craymen's personal Flagship as well as Zastava's Spectre were both primarily equipped for air to air combat. The Black Fleet would have been a formidable opponent in battle as it appears Craymen only selected the best men for the job. The crews aboard the ships in the Black Fleet swore thier allegiance to Craymen loyal rather then the Emperor.

The ships in the Black Fleet are very distinctive from other, more standard, imperial airships. While they appear to be the same as other imperial ships they have a distinctive black color as opposed to the Empires standard white. The black color seems to have been a way to identify and make Craymen's fleet stand out from the rest. It is not known if the black coloration has anything to do with the technology utilized on the airships in Craymen's fleet.

Official Imperial Report on Craymen:

"According to the official Imperial records, in Imperial Year 119, the fleets of Arwen and Zastava, led by the traitor, K. F. Craymen, attempted a coup of the throne. After wiping out all the satellite regions of the Empire, Craymen and his men activated the ruins near Lake Ul in the northeast section of the Continent. Consequently, a great many bio-engineered creatures emerged from the ruins and ran rampant, causing further damage to the Empire's remote cities and regions."
