Airship Kartha

"Imperial airships dedsigned for the purpose of anti-airship interception. One notable feature is that the these units have a long flag-like object trailing behind them. These flags are in fact used as visual signals to communicate with other units.

Since the bodies of these airships are collapsible, they can be stored in relatively small areas, and therefore giant fleets of these ships are easy to transport."

Airship Kartha Prototype

"Experimental airships with engines based on Ancient technologies, and genetic manipulation. The technologies used in these experimental vehicles was created during the development of the dragonmares. However, the only improvements that the upgrade seems to have bestowed upon the airships is slightly better durability. "

Airship Vahra

" patrol unit used primarily in the defense of the Capital and undergrround excavation sites, ,it is equipped with the most recent technological advances. Combining hardened, yet light armor with a more compact engine design, the unit has successfully met high endurance level and mobility."

Assault Carrier Vermana

"A newly developed transport ship that acts as the center of the dragonmare squadron. It is equipped with the latest in defense technologies, and is manned by the top pilots and engineers from the academy.

Aside from the dragonmares that is carries, the airship also features a series of anti-missile weaponry, missile turrets, and two forward facing autocannons, which enable this ship to be a formidable force, even by itself."

The Assault carrier is quite larger then any of the airships in the old Imperial Fleet, it is near three times as long as the Old Empire's most feared airship, the Battlecruiser, and and is longer then Grig Orig by 5.0 ln (though the Vermana is only 1/3 of the Grig Origs height). The Assault Carriers appear to be the modern day equivalent of an aircraft carrier, albeit more heavily armed and amored. As the primary role is to launch dragonmares it would be safe to assume that if need be it could be modified to launch other ships such as the Bhout or Kartha. Here we can see an image of the Assault Carrier's interior.

Assualt Hovership Taishak

"The core of the imperial armored fleet, Taishaks can store up to 6 smaller airships in its rear hatch. The Taishaks are considered the leading battleships of the imperial armored fleet. Six interceptors are mounted in each one's rear hatch. Following the combat strtategies of the Southerner, the Empire has adopted the philosphy of 'superiority in numbers.'

Each Taishak is capable of handling many opponents, but is exponentially more deadly when it deploys the smaller airships."

Of all the new imperial airships the Assault Hovership appears to be the most numerous. It seems to be similar in size to the old Imperial Gunship and it most likely serves the same function, although it is interesting to not that it is significantly larger then both the classic Imperial Gunship and even the more fearsome Battlecruiser. The Taishak is capable of launching ships as stated above, most likely the smaller Kartha class airship as its primary role is for air to air combat, but it appears to be capable of holding Bhouts as well.

Battleship Bhout

"A single-man airship, mounted with a revolving cannon. Easy to produce and highly mobile, this ship has become the main constituent of the Imperial Forces. It is used in general attacks, as well as aerial interception missions."

It appears that under the New Imperial order the Bhout has replaced the Raider and Stinger as the Empires primary small mutli-purpose fighter. Like the Raider/Stinger the Bhout is a versatile craft capable of attacking air and ground forces.

Carrier Bhout

"An airship that is primarily used for the transportation of collected research samples and specimens. While most units are on the battlefield engaged in combat, it is the Carrier Bhouts duty to collect information for the development of more advanced weapons.

By collecting defeated bio-engineered creatures, or newly discovered weapons and brining them back to the Academy, the Empire is always outfitted with the latest in warfare technology."

Dragonmare

"This is a newly developed dragon type, designed and grown within the Empire's very own Academy. A biological weapon with endless offensive capabilities and nearly infinite vitality, it shares all the strengths of bio-engineered creatures. Only six prototypes were created using the Bio-reactor, out of which, only five were actually deployed in combat."

"The whereabouts of the final and sixth dragonmare are currently unknown. The various abilities of the dragonmare far surpass any other armament that the Empire currently has in use. While it is flesh and blood, the dragonmare's body is covered in a solid armor-like plating that has remarkable regenerative capabilities."

"They are also capable of generating viscous balls of mucus that are projected from the creatures' mouths at extremely high temperatures. The mucus is also capable of denaturing the proteins within other bio-engineered creatures and have proven effective against such enemies."

"Aside from those more exotic abilities, the dragonmares are also capable melee fighters, using their enormous tails and claws to render flesh and rip apart stone and steel just as easily. The slightly grotesque and misshapen figures of these dragons is what earned them their name, which means 'distorted dragons.'"

"It is said that the dragonmares, though they be vicious and terrible in battle, lay perfectly still and silent when not in the midst of action. Some say that perhaps the dragonmares are not truly alive. Seeing the beasts rest, one can understand where such rumors come from."

"The Empire has been nearly destroyed on numerous occasions by dragons, and a fear and hatred of the beasts has been embedded into the psyche of the people. It is an interesting twist of fate that the Empire should, in turn, research how to create such creatures to use them to combat other dragons. 'Desperate times call for desperate measures,' the head of the research within the Academy was once heard saying."

As the text states the Empires use of bio-engineered weapons is highly ironic - yet "desperate times call for desperate measures" and the use of Dragonmares most likely result to a fast rise to power for the New Empire. The dragonmare themselves are immensely powerful and the entire dragonmare squadron is most likely in power and might equivelant to the power of the old empires Grig Orig. At the very least the Dragonmares struck the same amount of fear in the hearts of the Empire's subjects that the immense Grig Orig did.
